'Habagat' brings occasional rains over Northern Luzon — PAGASA
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Wednesday, July 30 said the southwest monsoon or “habagat” continues to affect the country and is expected to bring occasional rains over parts of Northern Luzon.
PAGASA weather specialist Loriedin dela Cruz-Galicia said there are no low-pressure areas or tropical cyclones inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility for the next two to three days.
Aside from the habagat, no other significant weather systems are affecting the country.
Over the next 24 hours, the habagat will bring occasional moderate to heavy rains over Northern Luzon, particularly in the Ilocos Region, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Abra, and Benguet.
Scattered light to moderate rains are also expected in Metro Manila, Central Luzon, the rest of the Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, and Rizal.
The rest of the country will experience generally partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
PAGASA advised the public to remain alert for possible flash floods and landslides, particularly in areas affected by heavy rains or severe thunderstorms.
