A man tagged as a high-value target (HVI) and his wife were arrested, along with their accomplice, during a buy-bust operation inside the couple's house in Barangay Concepcion Uno, Marikina City on Tuesday, July 29, the Marikina City Police said.

The suspects were identified as alias Albert, 45, and listed as an HVI wanted for an illegal drug-related case; his wife, alias Ange, 42; and alias Joven, 32, a street-level individual (SLI), also wanted for the same offense.

The couple was placed under surveillance for three weeks until a poseur buyer successfully purchased P1,000 worth of shabu from the suspects, prompting the police to launch an entrapment operation.

Seized from the suspects were 150 grams of shabu worth P1,020,000 and other drug paraphernalia.

The suspects denied allegations that they are drug pushers but admitted to using the illegal substances.

The three are now detained at the Marikina City Police Custodial Facility. They are facing charges for violation of RA 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
