LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Two employees of the Benguet Provincial Engineering Office (PEO) were killed after the loader they were riding plunged into a ravine approximately 100 meters deep in Lower Kesbeng, Poblacion, this town, on Tuesday afternoon, July 29.
Police identified the victims as La Trinidad residents Redentor Roldan and Rex Gayang.
The loader with four persons on board lost its brakes while traversing a curved part of the road during clearing operation. The driver failed to control the heavy equipment which fell into the ravine.
The victims’ companions survived by jumping before the loader fell.
Roldan and Gayang were taken to a hospital where they were declared dead.
