A grandmother from Barangay Comembo received a P100,000 check from the Taguig City government to mark her 102nd birthday.
Taguig Councilor Raul Aquino visited Carmen Salvilla at her home to personally give her the centenarian cash gift.
Through the city’s Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA), centenarians in Taguig will receive a yearly gift of P100,000 while they are alive.
In addition, senior citizens in Taguig receive birthday cash gift from P3,000 to P10,000 depending on their age bracket, free medicine, free nursing services in their home, and free wheelchairs, canes, and hearing aids.
The Center for the Elderly in Barangay North Signal Village also provide free services to senior citizens. These include clinic, massage room, cinema, recreational areas, therapy pool, and sauna, gym, yoga and ballroom area.
