More than 2,000 Malabon residents affected by flooding benefited from free medical checkups, lab tests, medicines, and various forms of government aid during the “Lab for All” caravan held on July 29.
The event, held at the Malabon City Sports Center, was led by Mayor Jeannie Sandoval together with First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos.
They were joined by Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla, Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Ted Herbosa, and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Secretary Kiko Benitez.
Also in attendance were city officials, employees, and representatives from partner agencies who helped facilitate the event.
The national program, initiated by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. and the First Lady, aims to deliver essential healthcare services to local communities.
It offers free medical and dental consultations, STI-related immunizations, and basic health checks such as blood pressure monitoring.
Residents were also given access to diagnostic services including chest X-rays, ECGs, and eye examinations.
In 2024, the city government received the “Lab for All” van, which is a fully equipped clinic on wheels featuring X-ray and laboratory facilities, ECG and ultrasound equipment, and comfort rooms, designed to reach more residents in the city.
Other services provided during the caravan included PhilHealth Konsulta registration, free police clearance, TESDA workshops, legal advice from the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO), and medical and financial assistance from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).
Pag-IBIG Fund also offered services for loyalty card applications, savings, loans, and affordable housing programs.
The LAB for All program was launched in May 2023 to promote community-based healthcare and support the implementation of Republic Act No. 11223 or the Universal Health Care Act—ensuring that every Filipino has access to quality health services regardless of income or location.
