Last 2 Batangas jail escapees recaptured

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna - Police announced that the last two Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) who escaped from the Batangas Provincial Jail on July 28 have been recaptured.

Loreto was apprehended around 7:30 p.m. on Monday in Ibaan, Batangas.

Gerald was arrested at around 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, in Bauan, Batangas.

Police credited the arrest of Gerald to thorough surveillance of his home and drone technology. He is in the custody of the Bauan MPS.

Police Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, Calabarzon police chief, credited the swift action of the police, in collaboration with concerned citizens and other law enforcement agencies, for the immediate capture of all 10 escapees.

“The swift and continuous action of our police is proof of their dedication and skill. We will not be complacent when it comes to peace and order in our region,” said Wanky.
