Suspect in murder of Sulu vlogger yields

ZAMBOANGA CITY – A councilor surrendered to authorities last Saturday, July 26, for the murder of a popular vlogger in Patikul, Sulu.

Patikul Councilor Mumarzhen Mañalas Suhuri, 33, turned himself in to Sulu Vice Gov. Abdusakur Tan and Sulu police chief Police Col. Jeff Briones Uy.

Suhuri is facing murder charges over the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Mohammad Riza “Doofz” Muksan last Friday, July 26.

Muksan was gunned down while driving his motorcycle outside a coffee shop near Litayon Beach in Barangay Umangay.

The victim’s friends expressed deep sorrow for the murder of the vlogger by a suspect who they describe as a close friend of Muksan.

Police are eyeing personal grudge as possible motive for the murder.
