The Marikina City local government received motorized rescue boats from Grab Philippines to further boost its disaster and emergency response capabilities, especially in times of typhoons and severe flooding.
Marikina City Mayor Maan Teodoro led the turnover ceremony together with Grab Country head Ronald Roda, Grab Chief of Corporate Affairs Sherylese Bonifacio, and Gio Tingson, Grab Public Affairs head.
Teodoro said the rescue boats will be used by Marikina Rescue 161 in their response efforts.
More than a simple tool, it is a symbol of caring and cooperation between the government and the private sector. The true wealth of the city is its public servants who tirelessly serve every day, whether in times of disaster or on quiet days of service)," the mayor explained.
“Being a public servant is not just during storms or crises. Every day, we have the opportunity to show our concern to those seeking help and to every citizen who comes to our offices," she added.
