3 nabbed in Tanay buy-bust op; over P2.3-M shabu seized

Three men were arrested in an anti-illegal drugs operation in Tanay, Rizal, on Sunday, July 27, the Rizal Police Provincial Office (Rizal PPO) reported.
The suspects were identified as alias Bachicha, 30, a resident of Morong; alias Gimo Edmond, 46, a resident of Tanay; and alias Dagul, 41, from Baras. The three are tagged as high-value individuals (HVI) by the police for illegal drugs.
Based on the police report, the operation was launched by the Municipal Drug Enforcement Team (MDET) in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
The authorities recovered 350 grams of shabu worth P2,380,000 and other drug-related paraphernalia.
The recovered pieces of evidence were brought to the Crime Laboratory Office for forensic examination, while the three suspects were detained at the Tanay Municipal Police Custodial Facility.
They will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) before the Rizal Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.
Rizal PPO director Col. Feloteo Gonzalgo commended the efforts of the operatives and emphasized the sustained commitment of the Rizal Police to curb the spread of illegal drugs and eliminate criminal elements preying on communities.
“This accomplishment is the result of proactive policing and strong coordination with our partners in law enforcement. We will continue to strike hard against those who threaten the safety of our communities. Sa Rizal, hindi puwedeng mamayani ang droga—dahil ang mamamayan dito ay alerto at ang kapulisan ay mabilis kumilos (In Rizal, drugs cannot prevail—because the people here are alert and the police act quickly)," he added.
