It seemingly turned the tables for the all-Filipino crew as Karltzy took over from there with the signature Lancelot pick to essay a come-from-behind 10-14 Game 2 win to equalize the series.
Karltzy finished with a 6-2-3 line and TLPH never looked back from there.
TLPH rampaged through Onic ID’s lines in Game 3 with Oheb bouncing back from zero kill showing in Game 2 with a neat 4-0-4 line on the Wanwan pick. Karltzy, likewise, put together a perfect 4-0-4 line on the jungle Fredrinn pick to complete the reversal with a dominant 11-2.
Meanwhile, MPL PH S15 runner-up Onic PH survived a do-or-die encounter against the all-Filipino North America representatives Area 77 in the lower bracket Group B.
The reigning M6 World Champions actually had a rough start to the tournament after dropping a 1-2 loss to Aurora Turkiye in the first game, putting them in danger of missing the playoffs.
Good thing, the Filipinos pulled themselves together and finally got it going in their second game where they swept the Area 77, 2-0 to stave off elimination.
Duane “Kelra” Pillas shone the brightest with back-to-back impressive performances, finishing with a 3-0-5 KDA on the Harith in the first game before adding another 3-0-3 line on the Irithel pick – highlighted by a triple kill in the final siege.
