Two of Taguig’s most wanted individuals facing illegal drug charges were arrested in separate operations on Friday, July 26, authorities said.
The Southern Police District (SPD) confirmed the arrest of alias Orliefer, 35, a businessman and resident of Barangay Sto. Tomas, Calauan, Laguna. He was listed as Taguig’s 10th most wanted person.
Orliefer was apprehended by personnel from the SPD District Mobile Force Battalion, in coordination with the Taguig City Police’s Warrant and Subpoena Section, Calauan police, and the SPD District Special Operations Unit.
He is facing charges for violating the Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The warrant of arrest, dated January 25, was issued by Presiding Judge Antonio Olivete of the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 267.
The suspect is now under the temporary custody of the Taguig police while authorities process the return of the warrant to the court.
Meanwhile, in Barangay Palingon-Tipas, police arrested another suspect, alias Bryan, 33, a tricycle driver and resident of the same barangay.
Bryan, who was ranked eighth on Taguig Police’s list of most wanted individuals for July, was arrested based on a warrant of arrest also for violation of RA 9165.
His warrant, issued on July 10, came from Acting Presiding Judge Abraham Joseph Alcantara of the Taguig RTC Branch 266, with a recommended bail of P200,000.
Both suspects are now facing legal proceedings as part of the city’s continuing crackdown on illegal drugs.
