The Police Regional Office-6 has stepped up security measures for Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, and Iloilo provinces as well as the capital city of Iloilo.
“We are actively monitoring potential threats and continuously strengthening our security measures to guarantee the safety and protection of the public,” said PRO-6 chief Police Brig. Gen. Josefino Ligan.
“While the main security preparations for the SONA are concentrated in Metro Manila, we remain proactive in securing our local communities and public spaces,” added Ligan.
Activists were urged to conduct peaceful protests.
“While the right to freedom of expression is respected, all assemblies and public activities must remain peaceful, lawful, and mindful of public order,” said Police Major Lailyn Sencil, PRO-6 chief information officer.
