The city government of Parañaque will soon open its satellite office in Barangay Tambo, aimed at bringing services closer to District I residents and easy access to the city's investors.
Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez said the 15-storey building will serve as a satellite city hall, in the concept of mirroring the services of the current city hall at the satellite office.
Olivarez said it will also cater to national offices, among others, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), Immigration, Civil Service, Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Department of Employment (DOLE), and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), on an accommodation arrangement for a one-stop hub.
He said that since the location of the satellite city hall is in the hub of the central business district, it will be easy to access investors and the workforce, both in terms of licensing and clearances needed for employment and businesses.
The mayor said the billions' worth of edifice project was undertaken through a public-private partnership (PPP), which is at no cost to the city.
Olivarez added that the partnership entails savings of public funds.
On the part of the city, participation in the form of expenditures is limited to the renovation's intended purpose.
He said the project is also part of the city government's ongoing efforts to decentralize public services and bring them closer to the people, making it easier and more convenient for residents to access government programs without having to travel to City Hall.
