The city government of Las Piñas conducted flushing and clearing operations in areas badly affected by flooding brought by southwest monsoon rains intensified by typhoons "Dante" and "Emong."
Las Piñas City Mayor April Aguilar ordered the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) to keep the roads clean and safe.
The CENRO team started the cleanup along the Zapote junction, which was badly affected by flooding.
Other areas visited by the team were the Julios Compound Naga Road in Barangay Pulanglupa Uno, Sigma Rho St., Prutas Neighborhood, and Santos Drive in Barangays Zapote.
The mayor said the operations also aims to prevent outbreak of diseases such as leptospirosis and dengue.
