The Taguig City government's responders rescued residents stranded in flooded areas and animals on the streets.
The Taguig City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and barangay emergency responders continued the search and rescue operations, the city government announced.
The aim was to bring affected individuals who are stranded in their areas due to flooding to evacuation areas using rescue lifeboats.
“Patuloy ang pagkukumbinsi ng pamahalaang lungsod ng Taguig, sa mga apektadong mga residente, na pansamantalang lumikas muna at magtungo sa pinakamalapit na evacuation area upang masiguro ang kanilang kaligtasan (The Taguig city government continues to convince affected residents to temporarily evacuate and head to the nearest evacuation area to ensure their safety),” the city government posted on Facebook.
Meanwhile, the city’s Animal Rescue Team rescued two dogs found in Barangays San Miguel and Tuktukan on July 24 based on a call by a citizen. The dogs are under the care of the City Veterinary Office
“Muling pinaaalalahanan ng lungsod ng Taguig ang lahat ng mga residente na maging maalaga at responsableng tagapag-alaga. Maging mapagmalasakit hindi lamang sa kapwa tao, kundi pati sa mga hayop—lalo na ngayong panahon ng kalamidad (The City of Taguig once again reminds all residents to be caring and responsible caregivers. Be considerate not only of people, but also of animals—especially during this time of calamity),” the city reminded the public.
Due to the bad weather, the city government postponed the Indakan sa Daan 2025 slated on July 25.
The Indakan sa Daan 2025 is part of the annual Taguig River Festival that celebrates the culture, arts and history of different places in the country participated in by Taguig residents.
“The Indakan sa Daan 2025, originally scheduled for July 25, has been postponed to a later date due to the continued inclement weather in the city. This decision was made to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants. Please stay tuned to our official social media pages for updates on the new schedule,” the city government said.
