QC imposes citywide liquor ban, suspends classes for SONA 2025
The Quezon City government on Friday, July 28, announced that it will implement a citywide liquor ban on Monday, July 28.
Mayor Joy Belmonte signed Executive Order 9, Series of 2025 on July 17, stating that intoxication may negatively impact peace and order during the State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. at Batasang Pambansa Complex.

The liquor ban will be enforced from 12:01 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. All barangay officials and other concerned departments are required to assist in the implementation of the ban.

The city government also announced that all classes in all levels for both public and private schools are suspended on that day.
