The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) on Friday, July 25, deployed more than 1,500 personnel and 227 equipment units to fast-track clearing operations along 46 national roads rendered impassable or partially passable due to torrential rains brought by the southwest monsoon, or “habagat,” and Severe Tropical Storms “Crising,” “Dante,” and “Emong.”
Of the affected roads, 11 remain impassable while 35 are partially passable following incidents of landslides, flooding, road slips, soil collapse, and damaged bridge structures, the DPWH reported.
