14 Bohol LGUs feted for exemplary tax collection

CEBU CITY – Fourteen local government units (LGUs) in Bohol province were recognized for their exemplary tax collection performance in 2024.

The recognition was handed out by the Provincial Treasurer’s Office (PTO) in partnership with the Bohol Municipal Treasurer’s League.

The award was based on the towns’ efficiency in tax collections in areas, including business taxes, real property taxes, economic enterprises, and regulatory fees and charges.

Danao received the Grand Slam Award for topping all four categories, while Panglao was honored for generating the Highest Locally Sourced Revenue for Fiscal Year 2024.

Maribojoc ranked first followed by Candijay, Cortes, Danao, Valencia, Catigbian, Trinidad, Tubigon, Loay, Alicia, San Miguel, Sierra Bullones, Anda, and Clarin.

The recognition on Friday, July 25, gathered key officials, municipal mayors, and treasurers from across Bohol.

The LGUs that showed notable efforts but did not place in all four areas also received certificates of recognition.

Gov. Aris Aumentado commended the awardees’ dedication, strategic innovation, and leadership in driving financial growth.

“Today’s event is a manifestation of how we take growth and development seriously,” Aumentado said.

The governor encouraged other LGUs to strengthen their governance, emphasizing that progress should go beyond financial gains and lead to an inclusive, lasting impact for communities.

“I am hopeful that you will continue to strive for greater heights and build a better future for your respective LGUs and the entire province,” he added.
