Pasig City evacuees provided with nutritious food amid monsoon rains, flooding

Babies, lactating mothers, and pregnant women among the over 15,000 individuals temporarily sheltered in different evacuation centers in Pasig City are being provided with nutritious food by the city government as part of the Nutrition Month observance.
The city's Nutrition Committee went to the different evacuation centers in Pasig to provide the necessary services to the affected residents, including the setting up of a Breastfeeding Station and Nutrition Desk as well as the implementation of Milk Code Monitoring, distribution of iron supplements with folic acid and malunggay capsules to pregnant and lactating women, bedside counseling and distribution of maternal books to lactating breastfeeding women, and lactation support kits.

The teams also gave vitamin A shots and Micronutrient Powder (MNP) to children six-59 months old, distributed Ready-to-use Supplementary Food (RUSF) for children six-59 months old, and measuring their mid-upper arm circumference to determine if they are malnourished or undernourished.
In its latest evacuation monitoring update on Thursday, July 24, around 20 evacuation centers in 11 Pasig barangays remain open with 1,184 families or 6,798 individuals. These are:
