The Korean fantasy movie “Omniscient Reader: The Prophet” debuted at No. 1 at the box office in South Korea.
The film stars Ahn Hyo-seop, Jisoo, Chae Soo-Bin, Shin Seung-Ho, Park Ho-San, Nana, and Choi Young-Joon.
“The Prophet: Omniscient Reader” is about a novel that has been serialized for over 10 years but on the day that it ends, the world within the novel becomes a reality.
According to the Korean Film Council (KOFIC), “Omniscient Reader: The Prophet” took the No. 1 spot on its opening day on July 23 in South Korea.
The movie recorded 122,491 in total admissions and gross of $831,343 from 1,581 screens, capturing 44.58 percent of the total cinema revenue for July 23.
Including the advance screening, “Omniscient Reader: The Prophet” has earned $866,420 from 127,431 in total admissions.
