Japanese singer-songwriter Ito Kashitaro returned to the Philippine concert scene following a successful debut visit in 2023, this time with more venues and collaborations.
Under the “Ito Kashitaro Live 2025 – Soul of the Streets” tour, the masked singer performed from June 21 to 25 across different venues in Manila, Los Baños, and Baguio. Notably, he took the main stage of “Fete de la Musique PH” on June 21, 2025, at the Ayala Triangle Gardens in Makati.
Ito Kashitaro first gained popularity online by posting covers on video streaming platforms. In the years since, he has garnered critical acclaim, releasing multiple studio albums and contributing to various anime soundtracks. After his major debut, he transitioned to creating original compositions and flourished as a singer-songwriter.
Central to Kashitaro’s appeal is his work on anime soundtracks. Filipino fans will recognize his music in “Vita Philosophica” and “Tsukikage Okuri,” the ending themes of Netflix’s My Happy Marriage; “Kioku no Hakobune” from Deca-Dence; “Shinjuiro no Kakumei” from Deep Insanity: The Lost Child; “Silent Minority,” the opening theme for Trapped in a Dating Sim: The World of Otome Games Is Tough for Mobs; and “Hinata no Kuni”, “Neko Neko Biyori”, and “Aisazu ni wa Irarenai” for Nights with a Cat.
As a highlight of the tour, the Japanese singer-songwriter shared the stage with Filipino rapper OG Sacred and the Tondo-based rap collective Tondo Tribe. He also performed at the Philippine High School for the Arts in Los Baños, Laguna, and the University of Baguio in Baguio City.
