A severed human leg was discovered in a creek in Barangay Bagbag, Novaliches, Quezon City on Wednesday night, July 23.
According to a resident, she was about to plant malunggay near the creek when she noticed a human limb floating in the creek.
Upon closer inspection, it was confirmed to be an amputated leg.
The resident immediately reported it to the barangay.
“Yung buong paa po na nakita namin, palagay po namin ngayon lang naanod… baka dalawang araw na o ilang araw na po. Ganun po yung kulay (The whole foot that we saw, we think it just washed up… maybe two days ago or a few days ago. That's the color),” said Barangay Public Safety Officer (BPSO) responder Elmer Balbin.
He also said the discoloration of the leg may indicate it had been submerged in water for days.
Authorities have yet to determine where the amputated limb came from or whether foul play was involved.
Police and forensic teams are now working to trace its origin and identify the victim.
