The Philippine youth delegate and official member of the Philippine delegation to the 2025 High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) and the High-Level Segment of the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), Cassandra B. Ynares, highlighted the role of Philippine youth-led organizations in advancing mental well-being, sexual and reproductive health, and HIV awareness in Filipino communities.
Cassandra also shared the Department of Health's Adolescent and Youth Health and Development Program, as well as her personal experience in founding the CASSAma Foundation, which supports youth mental health through workshops, peer support circles, and safe space sessions.
She reaffirmed the importance of collective action and welcomed progress, such as the WHO Pandemic Treaty, adopted during the PH’s presidency of the World Health Assembly.
Cassandra also participated in meetings, delivering formal and informal statements and engagements in UN and other related activities from July 14 to 24, 2025, in New York, USA.
