PSTD celebrates 60 years of shaping future-ready professionals

The Philippine Society for Talent Development (PSTD) marked its 60th anniversary by reaffirming its commitment to advancing professional growth and learning innovation across industries.
In a press conference on July 18 in Quezon City, PSTD announced its 50th National Convention set for Aug. 27 to 29 in Cebu City, underscoring efforts to equip professionals for an evolving global workforce.
“This milestone is not just about looking back—it’s about inviting more professionals to look forward with us,” said PSTD President Rinah Rivero, who also serves as senior manager at PwC.
Rivero said the organization is expanding inclusive and practical learning platforms as regional chapters grow and partnerships strengthen.
The event, held in partnership with the International Accreditors for Continuing Education and Training (IACET), also highlighted PSTD’s alignment with global benchmarks in continuing education.
For six decades, PSTD has supported human resource practitioners, trainers, and people leaders through structured programs, practical tools, and peer collaboration aimed at raising professional development standards.
The organization emphasized the vital role of learning and development (L&D) in fostering innovation, adaptability, and growth amid changing workplace demands.
Anchored on the theme “ABLAZE: Illuminating Talent Development Pathways,” the upcoming convention will feature keynote sessions, workshops, and peer learning focused on leadership, mentoring, digital capability, and culture-building.
Designed to deliver actionable insights, the event aims to empower professionals with strategies that create measurable impact in their organizations.
PSTD Board Trustee Louie Banta said the organization’s strength lies in cultivating professionals who drive growth in others.
“Our members are not just learners—they’re multipliers. They create ripples of growth wherever they work, and that’s the real impact of what we do,” Banta said.
PSTD continues to strengthen its global linkages by aligning its programs with IACET standards for professional development.
IACET Commissioner Rowell Vitor Mariano recognized PSTD’s growing role in advancing quality learning across the region.
“We see PSTD as a strategic partner in fulfilling our vision of a world that learns better. The work being done here resonates far beyond the country,” Mariano said.
As it enters its seventh decade, PSTD invites professionals from all sectors to be part of its evolving learning community dedicated to building the next generation of leaders.
