Natus Vincere PH, the defending champions of the premiere MLBB all-women tiff, bowed out of contention in the quarterfinals following a shocking 0-2 defeat at the hands of North American representative Gaimin Gladiators last week.
It was a massive upset loss for NAVI PH especially after it swept the group stage with 2-0 victory over CFU Serendipity and 2-1 triumph over Terror Queens.
The PH hopes then fell to the shoulders of Team Liquid PH which reached as far as the semifinals but suffered a tough 0-3 sweep loss against Indonesian powerhouse Team Vitality.
Like NAVI PH, TLPH, also considered as one of the tournament's top contenders, went off to a good start after sweeping its preliminary assignments.
It swept Tidal Legends Gaming, 2-0, and then overcame a first game hiccup to essay a 2-1 reversal against Natus Vincere MY.
In the quarterfinals, TLPH made quick work of Twisted Mind Orchids, 2-0, but found little answers to Team Vitality's superb map control in the semis. The Filipinas still had the chance at finishing third but they absorbed yet another painful 0-3 sweep against Terror Queens in the battle for bronze
Over at the HOK World Cup, after their sloppy performances in the group stage, Filipino teams Boom Esports and Blacklist International found themselves at a collision course. As the champion of the Philippine Kings League, Boom Esports asserted its mastery of Blacklist with a 2-1 win only to be sent packing by Gen G with a 2-0 outcome.
PKL third placer ACT Esports Club did not do any better, suffering back-to-back 2-1 defeat on its way out of the tournament.
The quest for the podium finish continues for PH teams with the big guns coming out with reigning MLBB World Champion Onic Philippines and former M4 titlist and current MPL Philippines Season 15 king Team Liquid PH, making their debuts in the Mid-Season Cup 2025 on Wednesday and Thursday ,respectively.
