The City of Manila has received donations of medical supplies from a pharmaceutical company and lighting equipment from a Korean business group aimed at strengthening public health initiatives and enhancing safety in local communities.
The turnover of donations to Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso was held on Wednesay, July 23, at the Manila City Hall.
The city government received 50,000 tablets of Doxycycline (100g), an essential antibiotic used in the prevention and treatment of leptospirosis.

These tablets, the mayor said, are intended for both frontline personnel, particularly from the Department of Engineering and Public Works (DEPW), Department of Public Services (DPS), and the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau (MTPB), as well as for residents in barangays who may be vulnerable to infection during the rainy season.
Around 30,000 tablets of Paracetamol and 500 bottles of Paracetamol syrup were also donated by Garrod Inc.
Domagoso also welcomed representatives from the Korean Business Group, which pledged to donate 20,000 Capiz shell lights to the city.

The lights will be used to replace broken or non-functioning fixtures and to illuminate dark, tree-lined areas across Manila.
The project aims to improve public safety, while also enhancing the city’s visual appeal.
Domagoso expressed his gratitude to the Korean Business Group, represented byJung Gi Cho, President of the Korean Business Community; Richard O. Lee, Consultant; Daniel Oh, Translator; Tim Dy, President and CEO; Antonio Ona, Director for International Affairs; Raynald Apostol, General Manager; and Jonmar Lutero, Marketing Head.

He assured the business community that Manila remains a safe and welcoming place for investors and entrepreneurs, reiterating that no one will be subject to oppression or abuse under his leadership.
