A landslide occurred early Wednesday morning, July 23, along Don Vicente Street in Barangay Bagong Silangan, Quezon City.
According to initial reports, the landslide occurred before 6:00 a.m., causing soil and bamboo to fall and completely obstruct a section of the road.
The incident occurred near a residential area where nearly half of the foundation of a house had eroded.
No one was reported injured and the house’s occupants were safely evacuated.

Two vehicles were hit by the toppled bamboo trees. No injuries were reported.
Local authorities immediately launched clearing operations. However, the blockage resulted in a major traffic buildup, especially for motorists and commuters traveling from Sitio Veterans, IBP Road, and J.P. Rizal.
Some drivers and passengers were forced to leave their vehicles and walk to their destinations after traffic remained at a standstill for over two hours.
Barangay officials have urged residents in areas prone to landslides to stay alert, especially amid the continuous rains in the city.
