Korean spy thriller 'Tempest' with Jun Ji-hyun, Gang Dong-won, John Cho set for premiere in September

Jun Ji-hyun (aka Gianna Jun), Gang Dong-won, John Cho and Michael Gaston will be starring in the Korean spy thriller series “Tempest” set for premiere in September.
In “Tempest,” when an assassination attempt is made on a presidential candidate, a multinational conspiracy involving rogue nations, security agencies, and classified intelligence will threaten the stability of the Korean peninsula.
The series will debut on Sept. 10 exclusively on Disney+.
“Tempest” follows Seo Munju (Jun Ji-hyun), a former UN ambassador who will try to uncover the truth behind an attempt on a presidential candidate’s life.
After discovering the candidate was accused of being a North Korean spy, she digs into his past, unlocking a Pandora’s box of deception, state secrets and more.
Protected by Paik Sanho (Gang Dong-won), a mercenary with a suspicious history and a hidden backer, Munju repeatedly finds herself under attack as she uncovers an international conspiracy stretching all the way to the White House.

“Tempest” is directed by Kim Heewon (“Queen of Tears,” “Vincenzo”), co-directed by Korea’s leading martial arts director Heo Myeonghaeng, and is written by Chung Seokyung (“Decision to Leave,” “Little Women”).
It will debut with a three-episode premiere on Sept. 10, followed by two episodes per week until the two-part finale on Oct. 1.
