Ilocos cops recover P14-M illegal drugs
P11-M marijuana destroyed in Mountain Province

CAMP FLORENDO, La Union – The Police Regional Office-1 recovered illegal drugs valued at more than P14 million from June 21 to July 21 in the Ilocos region, PRO-1 chief Police Brig. Gen. Dindo R. Reyes said.
Reyes said they confiscated 978.59 grams of shabu and 799.31 grams of marijuana valued at P6.7 million in 135 anti-illegal drug operations where 151 drug personalities were arrested.
Police retrieved a pack of suspected shabu weighing 1.1 kilos and valued at P7.4 million discovered by a Pangasinan resident.
In addition, 20 individuals were arrested and 160 firearms and 17 unexploded ordnance items were recovered in 23 operations in the crackdown against loose firearms.
Three-hundred ten wanted persons were apprehended and 28 communist rebels surrendered.
Reyes urged police personnel to support the core values of the Philippine National Police. He also thanked them for their support.
Meanwhile, police discovered a marijuana plantation in Mount Balitok, Barangay Saclit, Sadanga, Mountain Province, on July 22.
The Police Regional Office-Cordillera said 54,000 fully grown marijuana plants valued at P10.8 million planted in a 3,000-square meter lot were destroyed.
Investigation to identify cultivators is ongoing.
