Animal rescuer in Pangasinan appeals for help

CALASIAO, Pangasinan – An animal rescuer has appealed for assistance in helping evacuate her dogs and cats from floods in this town.

Marinella Palaganas, 25, a part time virtual assistant and a rescuer from Barangay Songkoy, is seeking a place where she can bring all her dogs and cats.
“Naaaburido na anak ko kung san niya dadalhin mga alaga niya baka abutan ng baha, lalo na walang tigil ang ulan," Maritta, Marinella’s mother, said.
Maritta said Marinella is spending at least P40,000 monthly for the food of her rescues.
Some of her cats were rescued during pandemic.
Marinella has been a rescuer for seven years.
"Mga alaga niya ay mga ni-rescue rin noya na iniwan at itinatapon sa kalye at napapabayaan, ngayon naman siya kailangan magparescue at ang lugar sa Songkoy ay tumataas pa ang baha," Maritta said.
Marinella appealed in her Facebook page:
"Hello everyone, anyone po na may alam na puwedeng marent na house po and if possible po 2-storey please, paglagyan po ng rescues. Magdidiaper po mga dogs at litter trained po mga cats. 12+ dogs and 40+ cats po,” she said. "Hindi pa rin po tumitigil malakas na ulan,” Marinella added.
