CAVITE – A 16-year-old girl drowned in Calibuyo River in Tanza amid heavy rains on Tuesday, July 22.
A report from the Police Regional Office 4A said the victim went swimming with her friends in the river despite strong currents due to inclement weather and warnings from their neighbors.

The Philippine Coast Guard-Tanza, in coordination with the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, conducted a search and retrieval operation, which was hindered by torrential rains and a significant accumulation of water lilies in the waterway.
Initial ocular inspection by the police found no apparent signs of foul play.
