The city government of Pasay City conducted clearing and cleaning operations in the city's drainage system to ensure the smooth flow of water and prevent flooding.
The City Engineering Office conducted vacuum cleaning on a drainage system on Leveriza Street in Barangay 19 to mitigate flooding due to continuous heavy rains affecting Metro Manila and other parts of the country.
Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the Engineering Office team also visited Taft-Buendia Road, which is undergoing rehabilitation, and performed hauling activities to prevent water accumulation.
The team also conducted hauling and transplanting activities in Barangays 1158 and 192.
She said transplanting involves relocating seedling trees or plants that that were initially cultivated in a nursery bed to a new site.
The process includes carefully digging up the seedlings, transporting them with minimal damage, and planting them in their final location.
Rubiano said that these efforts aim to prevent widespread flooding around the city and ensure the safety of its residents.
