This was shared by the Vice President during a chance interview with supporters outside the Scheveningen Prison in The Hague, Netherlands, where her father has been detained since he was extradited there in March.
“Napag-usapan namin yan 2028 elections. Sabi niya, kung gusto mong tumakbo, tumakbo ka. Sabi niya, ako ang pinakaunang mag-contribute at tumulong sa iyo (We talked about the 2028 elections. He said that if you want to run, you run. He said, I will be the first one to contribute and help you),” the younger Duterte said.
“Sabi niya, sana lang ay nasa labas na ako sa kampanya kasi gusto kong mangampanya… Pag sinabi mo sa akin na tatakbo ka, sabi niya, ako yung unang tutulong (He just said that he hopes he’ll be free by that time and he will campaign for me because he wants to be the first one to help me if I decide to run),” she added.
The Vice President shared that she and her father discussed about President Marcos and the possible presidential candidates in 2028.
But she told her father that no one will vote for any Marcos “ever in the history of the Philippines.”
“Wala na boboto sa kanya. Ako bumoto ko sa kanya noong 2022... Sa susunod, wala na, wala man silang kasama. Alam nila yan kasi noong lumapit sila, alam nila hindi nila kakayanin ang mga supporters ni Leni Robredo at the time noong 2022 (No one will vote for him. I voted for him in 2022...They don't have anyone in next elections. They knew that because when they approached me, they knew they won’t be able to win against the supporters of Leni Robredo at the time last 2022),” she explained.
But the younger Duterte explained that even though Marcos has the “dilawan” on their side right now, Liberal Party and pro-Aquino supporters will not vote for a Marcos.
She believed even the Makabayan bloc, who she alleged is allied with the President now, will not be supporting the President’s candidate in 2028.
