The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said on Tuesday, July 22, that it is seeking volunteers to help produce family food packs at its National Resource Operations Center (NROC) in Pasay City, following recent flooding in several regions of the country.
DSWD Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao said the food packs will replenish those already distributed to affected communities.
The NROC serves as the DSWD’s primary disaster response hub and is located on Chapel Road, Barangay 195, near the Airport Police and the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).
Volunteer shifts are open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Interested individuals or groups may contact Ms. Shara Lee or Mr. Kevin Sanchez at 0995-400-5548 or 0926-061-2646.
Inquiries can also be sent via email to [email protected].
Volunteers are advised to wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes, and to bring their own bottled water and packed meals.
A 30-minute orientation will be conducted before deployment to review safety protocols and ensure efficient operations.
Dumlao expressed gratitude to those willing to support the agency’s disaster response efforts, saying their help contributes to the swift delivery of aid to displaced and affected families.
