CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – Police Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky on Monday reported the achievements of the Police Regional Office 4-A in his first month in office.
Wanky, during a press conference, said they registered an 84 percent crime clearance efficiency in eight focused crimes – murder, homicide, physical injury, robbery, theft, carnapping, motornapping, and rape – from June 19 to July 18.
Illegal drugs worth P34.9 million have been seized and 5,536 drug personalities have been arrested and charged.
Wanky said 307 most wanted persons and 655 other wanted persons were arrested and more than 180 loose firearms were confiscated or voluntarily surrendered.
Police said they arrested a bank robbery suspect in Santa Teresita, Batangas. A backpack containing P1,201,560 was recovered from the suspect.
A policeman in Quezon who allegedly shot and threatened a civilian was apprehended and criminal and administrative charges have been filed against him.
Wanky condemned the spread of false information or fake news about the body of a Chinese found in Kawit, Cavite, in 2022.
He reported that smuggled cigarettes worth P28 million were seized in Cavite.
Wanky reminded the public to be critical and contact the authorities for verified information.
“All this is the result of the joint cooperation of our police force, in collaboration with various agencies and the trust of our countrymen,” Wanky added.
“PRO-Calabarzon will continue to serve you with all its might, and you can expect our prompt response to your reports and assistance through our 911 Emergency Hotline.”
