QC gov't begins preemptive evacuations in low-lying areas
As the southwest monsoon (habagat) brought heavy rains that continue to raise the water levels of dams, rivers, and waterways, the Quezon City government initiated preemptive evacuations in several flood-prone barangays on Monday afternoon, July 21.

The Quezon City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (QCDRRMO), in coordination with the Department of Public Order and Safety (DPOS), Traffic and Transport Management Department (TTMD), Task Force Disiplina, Quezon City Police District (QCPD), District Action Offices, the Philippine Red Cross, and barangay units, has deployed emergency teams to assist in evacuation efforts and ensure public safety.
Preemptive evacuations were carried out in the following barangays:
District 3- Quirino 2-A and Bagumbuhay
District 4- Damayang Lagi, Doña Imelda, Kalusugan, Kamuning, Roxas, Tatalon, and Kristong Hari
District 5- Capri, Gulod, Nagkaisang Nayon, Novaliches Proper, North Fairview, San Bartolome, Sta. Lucia, and Sta. Monica
District 6- Barangay Apolonio Samson.
The city government also advised other barangays not included in the current evacuation list but experiencing flooding or at risk of landslides to conduct their preemptive evacuation as a precautionary measure.
Residents are encouraged to remain vigilant, monitor official advisories, prepare emergency go-bags, and cooperate with local authorities.

City officials continue to monitor the weather and flood conditions and will issue updates as necessary to ensure the safety and well-being of all Quezon City residents.
