P15.8-M aid distributed to 'Crising' victims in Western Visayas, Negros Occidental

ILOILO CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has distributed more than P15.8-million worth of relief aid in Western Visayas region as well as Negros Occidental province in the aftermath of monsoon rains enhanced by tropical cyclone “Crising.”
As of 12 noon on July 21, around P15.69-million worth of food packs were distributed to affected communities mostly affected by flood from heavy rains for three days.
More than P200,028 non-food items have been distributed by DSWD-6.
Negros Occidental received P10.3-million food packs and P131,744 non-food items.
The DSWD-6 distributed P3.34 million in food items in Antique province. The province of Capiz received P983,197 food items.
Iloilo City had P539,274 in food items and P68,284 non-food items.
DSWD-6 OIC Regional Director Joselito G. Estember ordered its Disaster Response Management Division to closely coordinate with local government units (LGU) in assessing the need to augment relief operations.
