Muntinlupa Mayor Ruffy Biazon implemented a blue alert status for the city on July 21 due to continuous rains.
Biazon ordered the Muntinlupa City Department of Disaster Resilience and Management to make the necessary preparations under the blue alert level.
All response agencies in Muntinlupa are on stand-by and are ready to respond to emergencies.
Personnel, rescue equipment and vehicles have been prepositioned, including rescue and medical teams, City Emergency Medical Services and ambulance.
The Muntintinlupa Operations Center will be monitoring situations in different areas 24/7.
Biazon visited different areas in Muntinlupa including the river at the boundary of Muntinlupa and San Pedro, Laguna.
The Muntinlupa Office of the City Building Official reminded that all advertising and commercial billboards must be taken down when Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 is raised.
The blue alert status is “primarily in preparation for a slow onset hazard event or in anticipation of situation escalation, requiring selected duty personnel,” according to an online post by the Office of the Civil Defense.
