Man hacked to death by son in Southern Leyte

TACLOBAN CITY – A 51-year-old man was allegedly hacked to death by his son in Barangay Dagsa, Sogod, Southern Leyte, on Sunday, July 20.
Initial investigation disclosed that the suspect, "Mike," 27, went on a violent rampage and destroyed items inside their house.
The victim, "Ali" entered their house to calm him down, but the suspect hacked the victim multiple times in the hand and face with a 30-inch flat bar.
Ali was taken to a hospital in Sogod where he was declared dead.
The suspect fled towards the mountainous area of the barangay.
Lawmen are conducting follow-up investigation and hot-pursuit operations against the suspect.
