Malabon conducts rescue, evacuation ops under code red status

The Malabon City government through the coordinated efforts of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Malabon, barangay volunteers, and local responders, conducted a series of rescue, evacuation, and flood monitoring operations on Monday, July 21, as the city was placed under Code Red due to heavy rains and widespread flooding.
City’s Fire Marshal FSupt. Elaine Baylon-Evangelista, firefighters, and volunteers responded swiftly to affected areas, prioritizing the safety of vulnerable residents such as senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and even pets.
Among the areas reached by rescue teams were:
Guava Road, Maligaya – three senior citizens were rescued and safely transported to the Potrero Main School evacuation center.
Doña Juana Street – flood levels were monitored and assessed for further risk.
Circumferential Road – five individuals were rescued from rising floodwaters.
White Lily Street – one family was evacuated to safety.
All rescued individuals were turned over to barangay officials for immediate care and further assistance.
The city government expressed its gratitude to BFP Malabon and the volunteers for their continued dedication and heroism in protecting Malabueños during emergencies.
