The House of Representatives has suspended work at 4 p.m. Monday because of inclement weather, a memo from House Secretary General Reginald Velasco confirmed.
"Due to heavy downpour and flooding caused by the Southwest Monsoon, work at the House of Representatives is suspended starting 4:00 P.M. today," read the memo, which Velasco signed.
"Only essential personnel, as determined by their respective Deputy Secretaries General or the Sergeant-at-Arms, shall render service," it added.
The House is still on legislative break, although solons are set to reconvene for the first time in the 20th Congress on July 28, the day of President Marcos' fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA)
Velasco is the highest-ranked civilian official in the House of Representatives.
