ZAMBOANGA CITY – A Chinese national who spent months in hiding after allegedly figuring in a shooting incident in Makati City was arrested by law enforcement operatives last Sunday, July 20, in Barangay Nalil, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi province.
The Chinese fugitive, alias Bao Long, was apprehended while on board a speed boat bound for Bongao.
Bao Long is wanted for murder based on a warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 59 in Makati City.
The Chinese fugitive was accused of shooting his companion inside a restaurant in Makati City on Oct. 17, 2024. The incident was caught on CCTV.
The operation to arrest the suspect dubbed Special Intelligence Project Long Project was approved by Philippine National Police chief Police Gen. Nicolas Torre II on July 14, 2025 and was implemented through a collaborative effort among the Batangas Police Provincial Office, National Security Council, Transnational Crimes Office, and police units in Tawi-Tawi.
