'Crising,' 'habagat' pound Pangasinan, affect 10,158 families
LINGAYEN, Pangasinan – The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council on Monday reported that 10,158 families were affected and damage to agriculture was placed at P5.2 million due to tropical cyclone “Crising” and the southwest monsoon (habagat).

Damage to rice, corn, and high-value crops was placed at P5,228,139. Livestock was pegged at P969,800, with 41 animal fatalities.
The PDRRMC said the towns of Umingan, Calasiao, Mangatarem, Lingayen, Santa Barbara, and Balungao were flooded. Some roads were impassable and temporary power outages were reported.
Work in government and classes on all levels were suspended in this province on Tuesday due to bad weather.
"However, agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disaster and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services shall continue with their operations and render the necessary services," Vice Gov. Mark Ronald Lambino, acting governor and vice chairman of the PDRRMC, said in Executive Order 60, Series of 2025.
Meanwhile, a tornado struck Calasiao, this province, on Sunday.
The tornado uprooted a mango tree, destroyed a shanty, and damaged a tricycle.
