BFP reviews operational concerns, response amid heavy rains in Negros Island Region

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) evaluated on Monday, July 21, its its overall preparedness and reviewed operational concerns to ensure public safety in the heavy rain-stricken Negros Island Region (NIR).

In an alert command group meeting, BFP-NIR Regional Director Chief Supt. Rodolfo P. Denaga explained that the action focuses “on strategic deployment of personnel and resources, ensuring all fire stations are fully equipped and on standby, and addressing various regional issues for the week, including logistical support, coordination with LGUs (local government units) and public safety advisories.’’

He asserted the importance of “heightened vigilance, proactive response measures and continuous monitoring’’ to safeguard lives and properties across the region following typhoon ‘Crising’.

The BFP-NIR chief also ordered a regionwide personnel accounting in preparation for possible augmentation operations, a move that “ensures that all fire stations across the region are fully equipped and ready to provide immediate response and support to affected areas.’’

“BFP-NIR remains committed to safeguarding lives and properties, reinforcing its proactive stance in disaster preparedness and emergency response,’’ Denaga said.

In the midst of the inclement weather, Denaga has conducted a station visit and inspection, assessing operational readiness, logistics, and equipment.

The BFP-NIR also carried out a “ranks inspection’’ to ensure discipline and preparedness among the duty personnel.

Denaga asserted that the measure underscores the BFP-NIR's steadfast commitment to public safety and disaster resilience initiatives across the area.
