DAVAO CITY – Acting Davao City Mayor Sebastian Z. Duterte welcomed newly appointed acting Davao City Police Office director Police Col. Mannan Caracas Muarip on Monday, July 21.
Duterte assured Muarip of Davao City’s unwavering support for the DCPO’s ongoing and forthcoming initiatives.
The mayor emphasized the city government’s continued commitment to working closely with law enforcement agencies to ensure public safety, maintain peace and order, and strengthen community-based policing efforts.
“Our support remains steadfast for all programs that ensure the safety and security of our constituents,” Duterte said.
Muarip thanked Duterte for his confidence and support. He said that the support of the city government plays a crucial role in enabling police officers to carry out their duties effectively and uphold the principles of integrity and public trust.
“We are committed to working hand-in-hand with the local government to realize our shared goal of a safer and more secure Davao City,” Muarip said during a courtesy call.
Muarip described the meeting as the beginning of a renewed partnership between the city government and the police.
He reaffirmed the strong ties between local leadership and law enforcement—a partnership seen as instrumental in preserving Davao’s reputation as one of the country’s most peaceful urban centers.
"With unity between the local government and the police force, we can truly deliver the kind of service that every Dabawenyo deserves,” Muarip said.
