Jako was presented for a murder case, while Ian was arrested in connection with kidnapping. Also among those apprehended was Marilyn Ponce, who is facing charges for illegal drug possession.
The other five suspects presented have been confirmed as members of the “Dura-Dura” gang, a group known for preying on commuters and pedestrians through a notorious street crime tactic.
“Sasabayan nila pag akyat hanggang maipit nila at madivert yung atensyon ng biktima tsaka nila kunin yung gamit o cellphone (They follow the victim as they board the vehicle, then position themselves closely until they manage to corner and distract the target, that’s when they grab their belongings, usually a cellphone),” Bautista said.
All ten suspects remain in police custody as they undergo inquest proceedings.
