Malabon LGU ready for flood response, rescue operations due to 'Habagat'
The Malabon City government has activated its full disaster response system under “Blue Alert” status to ensure immediate operations for affected communities amid heavy rains and flooding brought about by the southwest monsoon.
The Malabon Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) said the city’s Emergency Operations Center is now on 24-hour activation, with all response units on standby.

Teams from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), City Engineering Department, and the City Environment and Natural Resources Office have been mobilized to support disaster operations.
As part of the alert status, the MDRRMO is closely monitoring water levels in rivers and flood-prone areas and maintaining communication with all 21 barangays through the city’s Command and Communication Center.

According to City Administrator Dr. Alexander Rosete, rescue equipment, including boats, high-axle vehicles, life vests, and early warning systems, has already been deployed to critical areas.
Forty-seven evacuation centers citywide have been activated to shelter residents who have been forced to leave their homes due to rising floodwaters.
On Saturday evening, July 19, the City Social Welfare and Development Department reported that four families, comprising a total of 12 individuals, had evacuated to Tinajeros Elementary School.
They are receiving basic assistance such as hot meals, mats, and relief goods from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
Residents are encouraged to report emergencies using the AHON (All Hazards One Network) mobile application, which operates 24/7 to connect users with local responders.
