Grade 10 student kidnapped, raped in Baguio

BAGUIO CITY – A 35-year-old university instructor was arrested for allegedly kidnapping and raping a 14-year-old Grade 10 student in this city on July 9.

Police Col. Ruel Tagel, police chief here, said the

victim was walking to school when an unknown vehicle stopped in front of her.

The victim approached the vehicle but the suspect grabbed and covered her mouth and nose with a handkerchief.

She lost consciousness and woke up alone in a lodge in Bakakeng Central naked.

"She felt pain on her private parts and her legs were shaking. She dressed and went out of the room, (walked along the highway), and called her class adviser who then contacted Police Station 3 then coordinated with PS-10," police said.

PS-10 personnel conducted a follow-up investigation and identified the suspect who was arrested.

Police forwarded the case to the City Prosecutor's Office on July 14. The suspect is in the custody of PS-10 and will be transferred to the Baguio City Jail.
