Four national road sections in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) became impassable to all types of vehicle due to flooding and soil erosion as a result of the onslaught of tropical storm “Crising”, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said on Sunday, July 20.
As of 6 a.m. on Sunday, the DPWH monitoring team reported that the following roads are closed down to traffic dur to high water elevation, soil collapse, and road cut:
1. Apayao (Calanasan)-Ilocos Norte Rd, a.K0633+535 Tanglagan, Calanasan,
Apayao
2. Apayao-Ilocos Norte Rd, Detour Road, Annaran Bridge (Madalagudug River) at K0661+950, Butao, Calanasan,
Apayao
3. Claveria-Calanasan-Flora-Lasam Rd, K0707+750 - K0707+765, Brgy. Ninoy, Calanasan, Apayao
4. S00393LZ - Kennon Rd, K0237+680, Camp 6, Tuba, Benguet
On the ther hand, the DPWH also reported that six national road sections have limited access due to flooding: three in Negros Island Region, two in Central Luzon and one in Mimaropa (Mindoro Oriental and Occidental, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan).
They are:
1. Bigaa-Plaridel via Bulacan & Malolos Rd, K0032+0000 to K0032+0100 Brgy. Panginay, Balagtas (Bigaa), Bulacan
2. Amungan - Palauig-Banlog Road (S01157LZ) Sect. K0217+0403 - K0217+0423, Brgy. Bato, Palauig, Zambales, Bato Bridge
3. Araywan-berong Puerto Princesa Road (S00037PW) K0077+000-k0077+100
4. Bacolod South Road (S00134NR), Negros Occidental: K0056+500 - K0056+700 and K0057+700 - K0058+100
5. Jct. Bagonawa – La Castellana –Isabela Rd. (S00178NR)
a. K0073+800- K0073+950
b. K0074+100 – K0075+900
c. K0077+200 – K0077+900
6. Hinigaran – Isabela Rd. (S00366NR)

“All other national roads and bridges in the affected regions are passable to all types of vehicles as of captioned date and time,” the DPWH said in a statement.
