A fishing boat capsized off El Nido, Palawan due to heavy rains and big waves caused by Tropical Storm “Crising” on Saturday, July 19.
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said three fishermen were rescued from their fishing boat which flipped off Pasandigan Cove.
According to initial investigation, the Coast Guard Station Northern Palawan dispatched a quick response team after receiving a distress call that a fishing boat capsized in the area around 4:50 p.m.
Search and rescue operations were conducted which led to the rescue of the three fishermen.
The rescued individuals were subjected to medical examination and they were found to be in good physical condition.
Meanwhile, the PCG said 617 passengers, 279 rolling cargoes, and 23 vessels remained stranded in 28 ports in National Capital Region (NCR), Central Luzon, Southern Tagalog, Palawan, Bicol, Western Visayas, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, Southern Visayas, and Southwestern Mindanao as of Sunday, July 29, due to bad weather.
